10 Contenders for the Valentine Brunch Menu

The Planning of Coffee Hour Continues...

Well I have scoured my pinterest and my cookbooks and finally it is coming down to time.  I have to get everything made by Friday this week as I have an event on Saturday and as usual, I will be short on time. So getting it done between now and then, will be a definite challenge.

Contenders to make it to the table include,
these two savory dishes Ham and Cheese Spirals and Tomato Basil Quiche.

This tomato basil quiche is from Tartelette, does it not look so delish?

Now onto the Sweets!

Fall Mantle Art

Time to change the mantle, I wasn't sure what my plan was yet.
I did know I wanted another paint chip art piece.
Why? Well...
they are affordable, they feel creative and I like mixing more sophisticated pieces,
with those that are more primitive.

To Infinity and Beyond

Well, thankfully, I guess March is like a Lion and a Lamb.
I was able to finish the Infinity Scarves in time for Valentines.
But, do you think I actually got them to the post office?

The colors of this scarf actually was really hard to capture, different rich shades of red.

A soft seed stitch creme cowl.
Very luxe.

So glad I can finally share these,
as I really wanted the recipients,
to be the first to see them.

And how lucky we still needed them?

They were received in time for the last big blizzard and guess what?
They loved them!
So happy.

No Mess Cupcakes

Things have been so busy around here, I've barely been able to catch my breath!
Forgive the slow and few posts.

I have a lot of projects all in the air, and unfinished, slowly they are getting there and will be ready to share them with you!

Trying to get as much done as possible and still get ready for Lent.

Meanwhile, I hit upon a idea that made me giggle with how easy it was,
and how it helped things stay tidy.

Valentine Pancakes

Happy "Valentimes" Day

My little guy is a big guy now and doesn't say it like that anymore,
but we still start the day with heart shaped pancakes!

White Chocolate Chocolate Cranberry Cookies

Time to make more treats for my sweets.
Also another great thing to have on hand, as we hunker down for another major storm.

Hearts in Nature Challenge

Love is all around us, as the song goes.
There are hearts all around us too!
I kept my eyes and camera open recently to see how many I could spot.

Truffles, Cake Balls & Hearts Oh MY!

So how do you host a tea party for 100 people?
You need a lot of truffles and cake balls!

The cake ball recipe is so simple.
Make a box cake mix or two, pick a flavor, these were red velvet of course.
Then once cooled, mash it up in bowl with a can of chocolate icing.
Roll them into balls and put them in the fridge or a cold place.
When hardened a bit, dip them in white chocolate and add sprinkles.
Yummmmmy!

The truffles were just as easy.
All you need is to mix 8oz cream cheese, 3 cups icing sugar, 3 cups melted semi-sweet chocolate chips and a flavoring of your choice (almond, vanilla, orange,  etc.)
Roll them, cool them, dip them or decorate them.
Coatings can be cocoa, sugar, coconut, crushed nuts, chocolate, sprinkles,
this is where you really get to be creative.
